Hypocrite in Chief

Last year while campaigning,  Barack Obama said, “We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK.”

More recently, he threw a verbal jab at his children’s school for cancelling classes due to icy conditions.

“My children’s school was canceled today because of what, some ice?”

“We’re going to have to try to apply some flinty Chicago toughness to this town.”

Yet on his first full day in the White House, he cranked up the heat in the Oval Office, prompting his senior advisor, David Axelrod, to say, “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”

You could grow orchids in there? Apparently all the talk about how “we” need to toughen up and sacrifice to make a better world was only meant to apply to the rest of us.

In another display of hypocrisy, Mr. Obama, who promised during the campaign that lobbyists wouldn’t find a job in his White House, has in fact employed at least a dozen former lobbyists in his administration.

No big surprise really, since his Inaugural Address was packed with hypocrisy on many issues. Some of us have known for a long time that Obama is an elitist hypocrite. Perhaps those who did not know it before will begin to see the truth now. Too bad we all have to live with their poor judgement of character for the forseeable future.
